FAQ # 2 How to View Drawings

Viewing Floorplans with the IDN Drawing Explorer From the main page in the portal, click on the Drawing Explorer link at the top. This will launch to the Drawing Explorer, which will not initially be displaying any floorplans.  Click on one of the drawings in the list to display it. Selecting a drawing will cause the system to open the drawing, convert it to a PNG for web viewing, and display it in the panel on the right.  You can use the tools at the top to do simple zoom operations (zoom in, zoom out, and zoom extents), as well as advanced zooming that will re query the drawing (these are the next two icons – grid zoom and reset). Here we see the drawing zoomed to extents.  For printing and sharing purposes, it is best to use the PDF format.  Click the Export to PDF button to download a printable PDF. Here we can see the basic output of the PDF.  If there were queries which had been run at the same time, they would be visible on the drawing – any legends required would be displayed in the blank area in the bottom half of the PDF.
